Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike on the sidelines of his visit to the Japanese capital to attend the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 conference, as per a Cabinet statement.
The two sides discussed ways to boost cooperation in digital capacity building and support for start-ups and entrepreneurship.
Talks explored potential collaboration between the Tokyo Innovation Platform and Egypt’s Creativa Innovation Hubs, which aim to launch specialised incubators focused on key ICT fields and support start-ups and SMEs operating in these areas. This phase includes establishing an incubator dedicated to artificial intelligence.
The meeting also touched on possible academic cooperation between Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) and a Japanese counterpart in the areas of research and student exchange.
