Minister El-Khatib highlights Egypt’s investment appeal at DisrupTech

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib has showcased the country’s investment potential and recent business environment reforms at the DisrupTech Nile event in Luxor, according to a ministry statement on Tuesday.

The event brought together more than 150 local and international investors, government officials, and entrepreneurs from four continents. The event highlighted successful business models in Egypt and the Middle East.

Minister El-Khatib emphasised the investment opportunities and advantages of the Egyptian market, as well as ongoing government efforts to implement further fiscal, monetary, and trade policy reforms aimed at attracting investment and boosting foreign trade.

DisrupTech Ventures, a leading $36 million venture capital fund established in Egypt in 2022, hosted the event. Its investors include the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the French Development Agency (AFD), the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), Avanz, and Sango Capital.
