Egypt’s El-Nasr completes studies on new ammonia plant

Egypt’s El-Nasr for Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, an affiliate of state-run Chemical Industries Holding, completed feasibility studies designed to build a new ammonia plant in Suez Canal, an official said on Sunday.

The plant will be built in cooperation with Benchmark Power International (BPI).

Emad ElDin Mustafa – Chairman of Chemical Industries Holding – told Amwal Al Ghad that the company is studying the time frame to build the plant at a capacity of 1,200 tonnes per day on an area of 460,000 metres square, with investments valued at $600 million.

The project comes as part of Chemical Industries Holding’s efforts to modernise and develop its subsidiaries, support them with modern technology, and benefit from the expertise of the private sector, as well as improve the utilisation of unused assets.
