Egypt’s El Sewedy signs two contracts to construct $57m transformer stations for EETC
El Sewedy Electric’s subsidiary El Sewedy Electric for Trade and Distribution has signed two contracts on Monday to construct transformer stations for the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) 1.1 billion Egyptian pounds ($57 million).
The contracts will be executed within 12 months from the date of receiving the site, according to the statement.
The first contract includes the establishment of a transformer station in the El-Hamam city in Matrouh that will estimate 566.8 million pounds.
The second contract includes the construction of a passive transformer station with a voltage of 22/6/22 kV and a capacity of (3 * 175 + 5 * 40) MVA of the gas-insulated type at a value of 533.3 million pounds.
This comes as a part of the 1.5 million feddan reclamation project being implemented by the Egyptian government to reach food sufficiency in the New Delta region.
