Egypt’s Engineering Authority executing 2,343 infrastructure projects – minister

Egypt’s Armed Forces Engineering Authority is carrying out 2,343 infrastructure flagships nationwide, Minister of Housing Asem El-Gazzar said on Tuesday.

At a cost of 822 billion Egyptian pounds ($50.8 million), the projects are being implemented in cooperation with more than 1,440 national companies, El-Gazzar added.

“The infrastructure projects are designed to create new urban communities,” the Egyptian minister said.

The works will include 3,700 social housing projects in South Sinai and a road flagship that will provide better access to South Sinai’s Sharm El-Sheikh, El-Gazzar said.

The Tunnel-Sharm El-Sheikh Road is at a length of 342km and a width of 16km, El-Gazzar added.
