Egypt’s Engineering Equipments Imports from Germany Hit $2.2 billion in 2013

In 2013, Egypt has imported engineering equipments and machines from Germany worth US$2.2 billion, according to official statistics compiled by the country’s Foreign Trade Sector. The North African country has imported German engineering equipments and machines to meet with local factories and companies’ needs.

Meanwhile, the statistics further show that Germany’s overall exports to Egypt stood at around US$4.7 billion in 2013, 17.5% up from a year earlier of US$4 billion approximately.

The engineering equipments captured the lion’s share in Egypt’s  imports from Germany. Chemicals and fertilizers rank second with imports worth around US$771 million, followed by building materials imports of US$ 442 million.
