Egypt’s exports of engineering industries exceed $2 bln in H1 of 2023

Egypt’s exports of engineering industries rose slightly in the first half of 2023 by an increase of one percent, reaching $2.002 billion compared to $1.982 billion during the same period in 2022, Engineering Export Council (EECE) said on Saturday.

The report mentioned that the sector’s exports increased by four percent in June, recording $339.7 million, up from $327.6 million during June 2022.

The top winning engineering sectors whose exports grew in 2023 are machinery by 65.2 percent, transport exports by 69.4 percent, electrical and electronic industries by 44.1 percent, and cables by 53.7 percent.

Meanwhile the most important countries receiving Egyptian engineering exports are; Türkiye, France, Netherlands, Italy, Maniac, Czech Republic, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Oman, Algeria, Libya, Sudan, and Nigeria.

Last month, the EEC has launched the first version of the Egypt Power Show (EPS) mission, which is the largest and first buyer mission in the electrical industries sector.

The mission was organised in cooperation with Egypt Commercial Service and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and sponsored by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
