Egypt’s FM reaffirms support for Lebanon’s stability

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Lebanon, its national institutions, and its stability amid ongoing security challenges. He reiterated Egypt’s rejection of any actions that could undermine the security and stability of the Lebanese people.

Abdel Aty stressed the need for full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon and the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area. He called for the Lebanese army to be empowered to enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1701, ensuring its full and simultaneous implementation by all parties without selectivity.

In a phone call with his Lebanese counterpart Youssef Raji, Abdel Aty discussed the latest developments regarding the escalating tensions in southern Lebanon. He warned of the risks of further escalation, which could heighten instability in the region.
