Egypt’s food exports rise by 10.5% in 7 months – ministry

Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Monday that food industry exports grew by 10.5 percent recording $2.6 billion in the first seven months of this year, compared to $2.3 billion in the same period in the year before.

The aforementioned figures surge driven by a 13 percent increase in the country’s food exports to Arab nations, with an overall value of $1.361 million, according to the data published by Export Council for Food Industries (ECFI).

It is worth mentioning that the state’s trade balance deficit decline by 20.8 percent to reach $17.84 billion from January to July, down from $22.52 billion in the same period in 2022, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said.
