Egypt’s foreign trade records $60.5 bln in H1

Egypt’s foreign trade decline slightly in the first half of 2023 to reach $60,543 billion, compared to $78,693 billion during the same period in the last year, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).

However, the data showed that Egypt’s trade balance deficit fell by 20.8 percent from January-June 2023 to record $17,841 billion, compared to $22,529 billion during the same period in 2022.

Egypt’s exports decreased by 24 percent to $21,351 billion, compared to $28,082 billion during the same period in 2022. This due to a 62 percent decline in the value of petroleum product exports to $1.099 billion, the report added.
