Egypt’s Green Planet, UAE’s Zero Carbon sign organic waste treatment deal
Egypt’s Green Planet and UAE’s Zero Carbon Limited have signed on Tuesday an agreement to transform organic waste into salable products, reducing its GHG emissions and creating environmental value.
The agreement will see carrying out an experimental project and feasibility studies to produce biomethane and up to 5 tons of graphene from the anaerobic digestion of decaying organic substances and landfill gases.
Green Planet will be in charge of collecting gases from 15th of May City. The Egyptian company had previously signed a long-term contract with Cairo Governorate to provide waste treatment services in 15th of May City.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the first edition of the Climate and Environmental Investment Forum in Egypt, in the presence of Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad.
