Egypt’s Hassan Allam executes two port projects in East Port Said

Egyptian construction firm, Hassan Allam is implementing two projects for ports in East Port Said region, near the Suez Canal.

The total lengths of the ports projects are 1,000 km, with cost estimated at 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds ($84.5 million).

Atef Barbary, Hassan Allam’s Managing Director for Financial Affairs, said Wednesday that his company has begun to implement the second share of the projects, under the auspices of Egypt’s Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

The second share’s cost exceeds one billion pounds and the lengths reach 500 km, Barbary stated.

“We are currently executing the projects’ first share with cost of 475 million pounds and 500 km-long,” Barbary told Amwal Al Ghad.

The Egyptian official further added that Hassan Allam targets delivering this share within one year maximum.

A number of major construction firms are tasked with implementing other major port projects in East Port Said, Barbary referred.

He concluded that these projects are under the auspices of the engineering authority.
