Egypt’s Hegazy Withdraws From Finance Ministry’s Press Conference

The Egyptian Minister of Finance, El-Morsi Hegazy, withdrew today from the press conference, which was held by the ministry, because he has a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the economic reform program and the mechanisms of implementing it with the coming period.

Dr Hany Kadry, Assistant To Finance Minister, managed the conference, in the presence of Ahmed El Naggar- Assistant to Finance Minister and responsible for the Sukuk file, Abdallah Shehata- economic advisor to Minister, Mustafa Abdel Kader, Had of the Central Administration for Tax Areas, and Atter Hanoura, director of the Ministry of Finance’s PPP Central Unit.

The minister, in his keynote speech, confirmed that the Egyptian economy has potentialities to achieve a leap in the growth rates and to restore the operating capacity; pointing to the political and security stability as a main factor in achieving this.

We have several solutions that we can do without loaning; such like depending on the partnership projects with the private sector, in addition to reactivating new financial tools to fund the state’s strategic ventures through ratifying the Sukuk law.
