Egypt’s ICT, Mobile Operators Meet to Finalise Measures of Licence

Egyptian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry is planning meeting with the mobile phone operators in order to finalise the measures of integrated licence.

The Minister asserted that the meeting will review all the notes which the firms expressed on the licence, stressing that the Ministry eyes discussing the points that the firms was commented on.

The Ministry said there are three phases to start activating the licence , Phase I Telecom Egypt obtained the fixed licence without frequencies with EGP2.5 billion.

Phase II includes giving opportunity to the operators so as to get new frequencies spaces, along with granting the mobile operators the right to operate the international gateway licence worth EGP1.8 billion for Vodafone and EGP1.5 billion for Mobinil.

Moreover, the last Phase seeks to make all the operators equal in the submitted services.
