Egypt’s IMF talks are advancing with no tough terms: c.bank governor

Egypt’s central bank Governor Tarek Amer said on Wednesday that talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were advancing.

“The IMF is not imposing any tough conditions … they won’t be burden on citizens,” Amer said at Arab banking conference in Cairo.

In March, Egypt said it was negotiating with the IMF about potential funds in addition to technical support to hedge against the economic effects of the Russian war in Ukraine.
