Egypt’s Industry Minister Inaugurates Business Forum in Paris

Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour inaugurated on Tuesday an Egyptian-French business forum with the participation of more than 45 French companies, according to State Information Service website.

Addressing the gathering, Abdel-Nour reviewed the latest developments in Egypt, particularly after the referendum on Egypt’s amended constitution along with preparations for the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Egypt is gearing up for the forthcoming presidential elections, which will determine the leader of the country during the coming period, he said.

The door is open for everyone to run for the presidency, Abdel-Nour stressed. He noted that Egypt witnessed several economic hardships over the past three years, but the government has recently managed to push the economic wheel.

Egypt wants to convey a message of confidence to the business community worldwide to pump more investments into the country and promote tourism, he added. He voiced Egypt’s keenness on attracting more French investors into the Egyptian market.

In the meantime, Abdel-Nour held a series of meetings with representatives of French companies to discuss investment projects due to be established in Egypt during the coming period.
