Egypt’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has approved Thursday 23 new projects located inside and outside the country’s industrial zones during May.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tarek Qabil stated that these projects are with investments totalling around 22.2 billion Egyptian pounds ($1.2 billion), expected to provide about 50,000 job opportunities.
“The approvals included seven various industrial sectors; 64 in engineering, 44 in petrochemicals, 79 in food, 36 in textile, and 5 in metal industries, respectively,” the Egyptian minister said.
Qabil added that these approvals also involved 22 governorates; starting from Giza, Cairo, Al Sharqiya, Gharbia, Alexandria, Monufia, Beheira, and Minya, respectively.
