Egypt’s government-led Informal Settlements Development Fund (ISDF) is completing 496 housing units within the first phase of developing a number of unsafe areas in Rouissat in South Sinai, Housing Minister said Wednesday.
The fund is currently executing 624 other units as part of the second phase of developing these areas, Moustafa Madbouly further stated, referring: “the total cost of the two phases is worth 317 million Egyptian pounds ($17.9 million).”
Khaled Sadek, ISDF’s Executive Manager, added that the works will include the development of two dangerous slums areas; the first area is spanning over 14.6 feddans. It encompasses around 366 units
“The second (Rouissat’s area) is established on a space of about 27.8 faddans,” Sadek said, elaborating that this area comprises 556 homes.
