Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Amr Talaat, met with officials from Thales and the French Business Confederation (MEDEF) to discuss expanding investment and cooperation in the country’s communications and information technology sector.
During his meeting with Thales executives, Minister Talaat explored the company’s plans to expand its operations in Egypt by leveraging young digital talents and enhancing cooperation in specialised training, particularly in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The talks also focused on capacity-building initiatives to support the growing demand for expertise in these advanced technologies.
Additionally, the minister met with officials from MEDEF to discuss investment opportunities in the sector. He highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts to foster a competitive business environment by offering incentives and facilities for companies while investing in digital talent development.
The minister also presented key investment prospects, particularly in outsourcing, IT and communications services, engineering research and development, and electronics design and manufacturing.
