Egypt’s Military council calls for Urgent Meeting

The Salafi Al Nour Party’s Chairman Emad Abdel Ghafour said he received an urgent invitation from the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) for holding a meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

The party’s chairman said “the meeting will discuss all the current political crises the country lives”, adding that “the notion of postponing the presidential elections will be rejected by most of political powers and will spark a state of tension in the streets”.

During his interview with “Alarbiya” Channel, MP Hatem Azam said he knew from trusted sources that the military council claim to meet the Egyptian parties today in order to discuss the notion of postponing the presidential elections.

A military source asserted that the military council called for an urgent meeting with the parties and a number of MPs today to discuss three issues. The first issue represents in the decisions of the legislations committee of the PA, which refused the results of last meeting between the parties and the military council over the criteria of selecting the constituent assembly’s members.

The second one is to discuss the incidents of the protest in front of defense ministry. As for the third issue, the meeting will discuss the relation between the government and the parliament and the parliament’s threats to withdraw the confidence from the government without a constitutional prove.
