Egypt’s petroleum refining sector grew 22.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025/26 and 8.7 per cent over the full year, recovering after contracting a year earlier, Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom said on Thursday.
Rostom told a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly that extractive industries also returned to positive growth in the fourth quarter for the first time since the second quarter of fiscal year 2022/23, supported by improved performance in the oil and gas sectors.
