Egypt’s Planning Ratify EGP835 mln For Railway Reform

The Egyptian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr Ashraf Al Araby, has ratified EGP 835 million during the fiscal year 2012-2013 to carry out the urgent plan of maintaining and developing that Egyptian railway. This reform came due to avoiding the repeated mistakes and to protect this vital facility which serves a wide slice of the Egyptian people.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Al Araby has elaborated that this urgent plan relies on providing EGP 635 million from the treasury, while EGP 200 million from the National Investment Bank.

The minister has referred that the EGP 200 million sums will be spent on securing and revamping 321level crossings, developing 550 level crossings electronically till the end of December 2013, meanwhile, EGP 170 million will be spent of the spare parts of the automatic control devices.
