Egypt’s PM says investigation into Damietta port drone attack ongoing
Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Thursday that investigations into the drone attack on Damietta Port were continuing and that the government would determine its response once the findings were complete.
Madbouly said the government would rely on verified facts rather than speculation, adding that security agencies were continuing to examine all aspects of the incident.
“The state does not rely on rumours or speculation. It deals only with facts established by the investigation,” Madbouly said.
“No group has claimed responsibility for the Damietta Port attack so far, and the security agencies are continuing their investigation to determine the source of the drone that targeted the two vessels,” he added.
He said the findings of the investigation would guide the government’s response and any measures it decides to take.
