Egypt’s QIZ Exports to USA Hit EGP2.1 billion in 5 Months

Egypt’s exports of ready-made garments to the USA, as pursuant with the Qualifying Industrial Zone Protocol (QIZ) recorded over the past five months 2.1 billion Egyptian pounds (US$293.6 million).

According to a recent report by the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), the Egyptian exports of ready-made garments to the US declined by 18.8% year-on-year to record EGP 333 million (US$46.5 million) in May.

In May 2013, Egyptian exports of ready-made garments to the US market reached EGP 410 million (US$57.3 million).
