Egypt’s Regina plans new Factory for Pasta Production

Egypt-based Regina Company For Pasta and Food Industries plans to launch a new factory in Sadat City, market group leader Mahmood Farook told Amwal Al Ghad Sunday. The new factory will be with total investments of 120 million Egyptian pounds (US$15.7 million).

Farook said the factory is expected to be accomplished within two years as Regina is currently preparing the construction works and contracting for production lines and machines.

The new factory is set to be with a production capacity of 42.000 tonnes annually, he added.

Last September, Regina inaugurated another factory with a production capacity of 36.000 tonnes and at investment cost of 100 million pounds.

By operating the new factory, Regina targets 100.000 tonnes of pasta production annually, Farook clarified, noting that the company is exporting 33% of its total capacity to 35 states all over the world.

Regina is an Egypt-based joint stock company engaged in the production of different types of pasta products from semolina flour. The Company produces pasta under several trademarks including Regina, Delicia, Masreya, Star, El King, and Victoria. The production facility is equipped with three production lines: one for long-type, and two for short-type pasta. It exports its products to Arab, African, Asian and European countries. The Company also produces Tomato paste and Sauces; and provides several online recipes for its customers.
