Egypt’s Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals pumps $670mn in New Projects

Egypt’s Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Co – Sidpec is currently in charge of a number of new projects with investments estimated at US$670 million, chairman Ahmed Helmy stated Monday.

Among those projects, Sidpec works on increasing the production capacity of the butane unit by 32%, with investments worth US$18 million.

In addition, Helmy referred that his company also carries out the project of producing ethylene and its derivatives in Port Said city, aiming to increase the added value of ethane/propane mixture which is produced by United Gas Derivatives Co., with investments reaching almost $600 million.
