Egypt’s Sisi proposes local currency settlements at BRICS Summit
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi called on Wednesday for increased cooperation among BRICS countries, including using local currencies for financial settlements and leveraging their comparative advantages to launch joint projects in agriculture, industry, and digital transformation.
During his speech at the BRICS Summit in the Russian city of Kazan, President Sisi stated that Egypt supports the important role played by the BRICS Business Council and Women’s Business Alliance in fostering collaboration between the private sector and business owners. He emphasised the need for joint economic, investment, and development projects, particularly in agriculture, industry, and digital transformation.
