Egypt’s stock exchange, Banks shorten working hours

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has shortened the working hours for the banking system as well as Egyptian stock exchange that shortens trading hours in line with the new preventative measures the cabinet announced on Tuesday.

CBE’s directives, banks will open their doors for clients from 9:30am to 1:30pm, while working hours for employees will be from 9am to 2pm.

Banks usually open for clients from 8:30am to 3pm, while working hours for employees are longer.

While, Egyptian stock exchange  announced that daily trading sessions on the basic index and the Nile bourse for small and medium-sized enterprises will start at 10am and close at 1:30pm, and its exploring session will be held at 9:30am.

Orders registration for the mega deals market will start at 9:15am and end at 9:30am, while corresponding orders registration will be from 9:30am until 9:45am.

Consolidated accounts division will be from 1:30pm to 2pm.

The non-listed non-financial securities trading session is to be held from Monday to Wednesday from 11:30am to 12pm for orders, and from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm for deals.
