Egypt’s stock market closes lower, EGX 30 tumbles 0.83% on Thursday
Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes ended lower on Thursday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index falling 0.83 percent to 10,898 points driven by local and Arab investors’ selloff.
The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) went down 0.50 percent to 2,010 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped dropped 0.69 percent to 12.995 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 edged 0.55 percent lower to 2,938 points.

Total market capitalisation has incurred losses worth 3.7 billion Egyptian pounds ($236.5 million) to close at 629.241 billion pounds on Thursday.

Also on Thursday, the trading value has approximately reached 2 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 567 million securities executed 52.500 transactions.
