Egypt’s Supply Min. ensures essential goods availability

Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk met with the Chairman of Misr Oil and Soap Company to ensure the availability of essential goods and market stability, as per a Cabinet statement on Sunday.

During the meeting, Farouk discussed mechanisms to enhance the supply of oils in local markets, ensure price stability, and prevent any practices that could harm consumers, the statement said.

He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to monitoring markets and providing high-quality goods at prices suitable for citizens. He stressed the importance of cooperation with national entities to maintain food security and increase strategic reserves.

Farouk emphasised the need to improve operational efficiency and achieve sustainable growth, with a focus on implementing expansion plans and increasing production, according to the statement.

Additionally, he highlighted the importance of revitalising the company’s brands, particularly in the area of detergent products, to enhance market share and meet consumer needs.

The meeting highlighted the significance of boosting production capacities and enhancing the availability of oils at reasonable prices, aiming to promote market stability and safeguard consumer interests.

Representatives of Misr Oil and Detergents Company affirmed their commitment to providing high-quality products at competitive prices, with their readiness to increase production in line with local market needs.

Farouk stressed the importance of continued full coordination between the ministry and affiliated companies to ensure the implementation of development and expansion plans according to the specified timelines.
