Emirates airline announces 13 flights per week to Cairo

To cater for a continued growth in passenger and cargo demand, Emirates, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, will fully restore its services to Egypt by boosting its frequencies to 13 per week from 30th March 2012.

 “This additional flight will offer our customers in Egypt even more choices, helping to connect both business and leisure travellers not only to Dubai but also our extensive worldwide network spanning over 120 destinations in 72 countries,” said Saeed Khalifa bin Sulaiman, Emirates Manager in Egypt. “There is significant demand for travel in and out of Egypt from across our network and we are confident that the extra frequency will be popular with our customers.”

“This is the second additional frequency we have introduced on Emirates’ Cairo-Dubai route in less than a year, underlining the resurgence of tourism as well as business travel to the city,” added Mr Saeed.

 From 30th March onwards, the additional flight EK928 will depart Cairo every Friday at 1155hrs and arrive in Dubai at 1730hrs.  The return flight EK927 will depart Dubai at 0850hrs, arriving in Cairo at 1040hrs.

 Currently, Emirates’12 flights to Cairo are served by a mixture of Airbus A330- 200 aircraft and Boeing 777-200 aircraft0.

 Premium on board service includes Emirates’ award-winning ice in-flight entertainment system, offering more than 600 channels of on-demand entertainment, including 50 new movie releases, 25 movie classics and 25 children’s films. A large number of Arabic, Hindi and other world cinema films are also available. Entertainment choices also include video and audio on-demand, interactive games, satellite telephone, SMS and email, live BBC news headlines, an air show moving map and external cameras for a bird’s eye view of the journey en route.

With a fleet of 169 aircraft, Emirates now flies to 121 destinations, having recently launched Dallas, Lusaka and Harare. Services to Seattle start on 1st March, flights to Ho Chi Minh City get underway from 4th June and Barcelona joins the Emirates’ network on 3rd Jul
