Eni agreed on Wednesday to intensify its exploration, development of gas and oil fields within its concessions in Egypt, a Cabinet statement said.
The company also agreed to utilise the country’s infrastructure as a strategic regional energy hub, pumping gas produced from Eni’s Eastern Mediterranean fields for export to European markets.
This new agreement is seen as a catalyst for increased investment and production in Egypt’s energy sector.
Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy emphasised Eni’s long-standing presence in Egypt and the significant investment opportunities available for the company.
