Etisalat Misr, Huawei announce completion of the first VoLTE call over Huawei innovative VIMS

Etisalat Misr continues to use Huawei virtualised solution, after the deployment of virtual Evolved Packet Core in the third quarter of 2020.

Etisalat has continued benefiting from the elastic scalability of Huawei’s virtualised solution by initiating the implementation of Huawei Virtual IMS as a step towards Single Voice Core virtualised solution.

Huawei developed the Single Voice Core solution, which supports 2G/3G/LTE/5G/VoBB all in one core to avoid the complex integration, operations, and maintenance for the CS core and IMS coexistence. Single Voice core solution will help operators to greatly simplify the core network architecture, save TCO, and improve user experience.

Khalid Murshed, Etisalat Misr’s CTO, commended the solution that marks a new milestone for Etisalat and Huawei partnership to boost Etisalat domination over the advanced services in Egypt.

Etisalat Misr and Huawei teams’ experience in virtualised platforms has powered the installation and the key integrations to occur smoothly achieving the initiation of the services just after 2 months from delivery.

Huawei will continue to work with Etisalat Misr on the remaining integration. It will also work on empowering Etisalat Egypt’s services by Huawei’s 99.999 percent reliable, ultra-simplified, and TCO saving Single Voice Core solution.
