EU delegation appoints 5 Egyptian water goodwill ambassadors

The European Union delegation has appointed on Tuesday five Egyptian water goodwill ambassadors to raise awareness of conserving water resources and enhancing sustainable consumption of water in line with Egyptian government policy.

The ambassadors will play a vital role to align with the EU’s efforts to ensure people can achieve the highest levels of health by creating jobs in the water sector and preserve the valuable resource.

EU chose distinguished members of Egypt’s cultural and media scene; the writer Amr El-Shobaki, actress Arwa Gouda, actor Ahmed Magdy, journalist Lamia Radi and chief of Sky News Arabia Samir Omar.

EU and Egypt have deep cooperation in the water sector with several infrastructure and water preservation projects, EU Ambassador Christian Berger said.
