Factories Suffers Fewer Components… Production Capacity Amounts To 75% In 2012

The production capacity rates of electric devices factories raised to 75% in 2012, compared to 60% in 2011.

Bahgat El Dahash, Head of Electric Devices, at Chamber of Engineering Industries, said some products, which are seasonal ones, work by production capacity that reach100%; explaining that air conditioning devices sales increase in Summer season.

The obstacles that the sector faces are the fewer components, consequently the sector resorts to importing. He underscored the necessity of developing the sub-industries the main industry depends on, and providing the components that necessary for manufacturing.

He added that manufacturing the electric devices in Egypt needs providing new technology and the knowledge that the factories are lacking at the current time; referring that developing the factories would provide a raft of job opportunities, in addition to developing the industrial climate in Egypt.

The number of companies of electric devices reaches 260 Egyptian ones.
