Fitch Solutions predicts 52mn tourists will visit Egypt till 2026

Fitch Solutions expects an increase in Egyptian tourism arrivals to reach 52 million tourists until 2026, due to a predicted decrease in the effects of COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The international economic institution expects the number of tourists who will visit Egypt till 2026 to reach 52 million (11.5 million in 2023 – 13 million in 2024 – 13.5 million in 2025 – 14 million in 2026), an infographic report showed on Monday.

“We project an acceleration in the growth of arrivals in 2023, with arrivals continuing to increase over the remainder of our forecast period (2022-2026),” according to Fitch’s report.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa said on January 16th that the value of the general index of the tourism barometer in Egypt recorded 108.6 points, a figure which foreshadows a state of optimism.

Egypt has developed a strong reputation as a year-round leisure and cultural tourism destination for visitors from Europe and MENA, providing a robust price-quality offering, the report mentioned.
