FJP: Referring “Former Regime’s Officials” Case to SCC is Conspiracy

Some members of Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political arm of Muslim Brotherhood, said reversing ex-pm Ahmed Shafiq to the presidential elections as well transferring the law, which bans ousted Mubarak’s officials from nomination, to the supreme constitutional court is a conspiracy on elections’ date in order to be postponed.

MP Gamal Heshmat, deputy of foreign affairs committee in PA, said if reversing Ahmed Shafiq to the presidential race and transferring the law to the supreme constitutional court announced officially during the coming hours, this would be a conspiracy on the presidential elections. It is an attempt from SCAF to drag its ruling period out.

He affirmed that Muslim Brotherhood hasn’t objected on implementing any law; especially that reversing Ahmed Shafiq to the presidential race and transferring the law to the court came according to the law. Meanwhile, the MB objects on the SCAF’s plan to postpone the elections.

Head of Industry and Energy Committee Mr. Negeda, for his side, elaborated that the law was to be implemented; as it was widely discussed to be in a constitutional image. The law aimed to ban the former regime’s figures to exercise political activity not to ban them from life. This is to give the honest citizens chances to take over political positions.
