France’s total investments in Egypt are standing at around US$ 1.4 billion, to become the fourth biggest EU investor in the country, Egyptian industry minister Tarek Qabil said Tuesday.
Qabil said the French investments in Egypt are mainly in areas of construction, electronics, energy, pharmaceutical industries, agricultural manufacturing, tourism, banking, and telecommunications.
In 2014, the volume of trade exchange between Cairo and Paris stood at €2.6 billion.
France is Egypt’s third largest EU trade partner, the Egyptian minister said, stressing his government’s determination to improve the business climate in order to allure more foreign direct investments.
