Gaza crisis in COP28’s negotiations without Palestinian President
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is not participating in the negotiations at COP28, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported on Friday.
Instead, he has sent his foreign minister to represent him in Dubai.
Abbas was scheduled to make a speech lasting three minutes maximum on Friday, alongside the Israeli leader.
On Thursday, the UAE president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had a meeting with the Israeli president.
Leaders from over 140 countries are attending COP28, which started on Thursday, to discuss the climate emergency in addition to addressing the Gaza situation.
