Germany’s inflation to drop to 2.2% in June

Germany’s inflation rate for June 2024 is projected to be 2.2 per cent, down from 2.4 per cent in May, as per data released on Monday. This figure, which measures the change in the consumer price index (CPI) compared to June 2023, indicates a decline in the annual inflation rate.

The report also indicates a modest month-on-month increase of 0.1 per cent in May 2024. Core inflation, which excludes the more volatile categories of food and energy, is expected to stand at 2.9 per cent.

This figure provides a clearer picture of underlying inflation trends, highlighting a steady rise in consumer prices across various sectors.
