Gold prices eased in Egypt today, Monday, 20 April, 2026

Gold prices in Egypt eased on Monday, although investors turned to safe-haven assets amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

By 17:00 Cairo time (15:00 GMT), 24-carat gold was trading at 8,028.5 Egyptian pounds per gram, down 11.50 pounds, or 0.14 per cent, from 8,040 pounds on Sunday.

Gold prices in Egypt typically track global bullion trends and reflect domestic supply and demand conditions as well as movements in the Egyptian pound.

On international markets, gold was quoted at $4,794.63 per ounce, while the US dollar reached 52.0291 Egyptian pounds.
