Here’s how celebrities celebrated #MothersDay on Twitter in Egypt

With Mother’s Day having just passed, the Twitter community celebrated one of the most visible and robust communities on the platform: mothers. Egyptians took to Twitter via the hashtags #MothersDay,  #عيد_الأم and #اشكر_والدتك to express their gratitude.

Celebrities also engaged with their fans on Twitter throughout the day. Here’s what Egyptian celebrities did on the special day:

• Mai Kassab (@MaiiKassab), the Egyptian singer and actress, held a Q&A to interact with her fans about the importance of Mother’s Day, via the hashtag: #AskOmFarida.

• Under the hashtag #MothersDay, the following Egyptian celebrities also Tweeted on Mother’s Day to answer the question of “What is a mother” in their own words:

• Syrian singer Nassif Zeytoun (@NassifZeytoun), winner of Star Academy’s seventh season performed his new song, “Oummi” or “أمّي” live for the first time on both Twitter and Periscope for his fans at 7:00 pm Cairo time on Mother’s Day. Nassif shared a teaser of his song on Twitter through music streaming platform Anghami, which allows music lovers on Twitter to share previews of their favorite songs onto their Twitter feed by simply clicking ‘Share’ when listening to a song on the @anghami app.
