Indian flexible packaging giant UFlex Group plans to boost its investment in Egypt by setting up a new manufacturing facility in the Ain Sokhna industrial zone, Egyptian ministry of foreign affairs said on Wednesday.
The announcement followed a meeting between Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aaty and Ashok Chaturvedi, founder of UFlex Group, where both sides discussed opportunities to enhance Indian investments across various industrial sectors.
Abdel Aaty highlighted Egypt’s efforts to attract more Indian investors, especially in industries catering to the local market. He noted that UFlex is currently the second-largest Indian investor in Egypt, with investments exceeding $350 million.
The minister underscored the government’s commitment to creating a more competitive and transparent investment climate by reforming legislation, streamlining procedures, and removing obstacles for investors. He also emphasised Egypt’s focus on empowering the private sector as a key driver of development.
To support foreign investors, Abdel Aaty reaffirmed that Egypt is facilitating visa processes for international business executives and responding to investor needs to improve the business environment.
