Iran’s coronavirus death tally hits more than 5,000 as some businesses reopen

Iran’s coronavirus death tally surpassed 5,000, the country’s health ministry said on Saturday.

The ministry also confirmed on Saturday 80,868 total new cases, up from 1,374 the day before.

Iran has on Saturday allowed some businesses in Tehran and nearby towns to re-open, after weeks of lockdown, according to the Associated Press.
