Iraq, Egypt target trade exchange of $2 billion in 2017: official

The Egyptian and Iraqi governments seek to increase the volume of joint trade exchange to around $2 billion at the end of 2017, said Iraqi commercial attaché to Cairo Haydar Gabr on Sunday.

In 2016, the exchange rates between the two countries exceeded $1.2 billion, Gabr told Amwal Al Ghad.

Earlier, the Iraqi official made his remarks on a sideline of the African Business Forum which takes place in Sharm El-Sheikh.

“A delegation of Egyptian businessmen is set to visit Iraq in the coming period to explore opportunities of boosting trade exchange and promoting investments in Iraq,” Gabr noted.

Gabr said that Mohamed El Swedy, Chairperson of Federation of Egyptian industries (FEI), will head the delegation.
