Italy’s Eni finishes drilling Zhor-6, starts works at Zohr-7: Egypt’s Oil

Italian energy group Eni finished drilling the sixth filed in Egypt’s Zohr gas field and started drilling Zohr-7 field, Egyptian Oil Minister Tarek El-Molla announced Sunday.

Zhor-7 is the final well among the production plan that targets producing gas from Zohr with capacity estimated at one billion cubic feet daily by the end of 2017 to be raised to 2.7 cubic feet per day before the end of 2019, the minister clarified.

The minister made these remarks during the regular committee meeting evaluating the execution phases of the Zohr field project development. The meeting was chaired by Minister El-Molla.

The meeting was attended by First Undersecretary for Gas Affairs at the ministry, Mohamed Moanes, Chairperson of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Mohammed El-Masry, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), Tarek El Hadidy, Chairman and Managing Director of Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel), Atef Hassan, Chairman and Managing Director of Petrojet, Mohamed Chimy, and Chairman of Enppi, Mohamed Abdel Rahman Hathout.

From Eni’s Side, Adriano Mongini, Executive Vice President in North Africa, Antonio Vella, Chief Upstream Officer in addition to other representatives of the projects.

Moreover, El-Molla noted that the regular meetings aim at following up progress rates in Zohr field in to finish works according to the determined schedule.
