A number of Japanese major food manufacturing firms will be visiting Egypt next 18-19 March to look for investment opportunities in Egyptian market, industry minister Tarek Qabil announced Wednesday.
Qabil made his remarks following his meeting with Japan’s ambassador to Cairo Takehiro Kagawa, in which they both discussed methods of strengthening trade and economic bilateral ties between the two countries in the upcoming period.
The Egyptian minister said that a Japanese delegation would meet with the Egyptian members in the Egypt-Japan Business Council (EJBC) to showcase ongoing and future investment projects.
Cairo is keen on enhancing economic relations with Southeast Asian states, notably after the visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Japan last year, Qabil added.
“It is important to increase Japanese investment inflows in the Egyptian market,” the minister stated.
From his part, ambassador Kagawa stressed the necessity of boosting the trade and investment cooperation between Cairo and Tokyo in the coming period.
