Japan’s Torishima to invest $5mln pump factory in SCZone

Japanese manufacturer Torishima is set to build a pump production centre in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) extending over 30,000 square metres with $5 million in investments, according to the Egyptian cabinet statement on Monday.

The project will maintain and supply of huge water pumps needed for certain industrial and civil purposes for sanitation treatment, purification and desalination plants.

The SCZone board of directors approved 46 projects with $3.6 billion investments from July 2022 to May 2023 in its industrial zones, said its chairman, Walid Gamal El-Din.

The project aligns with the Egyptian government’s vision of increasing exports and re-industrialisation, as this cooperation reinforces Egypt’s commitment to signing international and global partnerships that contribute promoting the economy.
