Japan’s unemployment rate ticked up in July, reaching 2.7 per cent from 2.5 per cent in June, according to government data released on Friday.
The number of unemployed persons rose to 1.88 million, representing a 50,000-increase compared to the same month last year. This marks the fourth consecutive month of rising unemployment.
The number of employed persons continued to grow, reaching 67.95 million in July. This represents a 230,000-increase compared to the same month last year, marking the 24th consecutive month of employment growth.
