Jordan’s General Index of Industrial Producers’ Prices (PPI) experienced a slight decline of 0.42 per cent to 107.38 points from January to July 2024 compared to 107.83 points during the same period in 2023.
The decrease was primarily driven by a drop in manufacturing and extractive industry prices of 0.55 per cent and 3.94 per cent, respectively, partially offset by an increase in electricity prices, according to data released by the Department of Statistics on Sunday.
In July alone, the PPI rose by 1.93 per cent, reaching 107.64 points compared to 105.6 points in July 2023, with manufacturing and extractive industry prices showing increases of 0.58 per cent and 0.87 per cent, respectively. However, electricity prices declined slightly by 0.20 per cent.
